Why Prediction Vault?
Prediction Validation
Scientists make predictions and check to see whether these are borne out. There is a need for a secure way to ensure that the predictions were made before knowing the results. Prediction vault provides an easy way to register predictions and compare them against what actually happened.
Sharing Results
It is important to share predictions to avoid gaming the system so that one makes a large number of predictions and then only shares the ones that were borne out. Only predictions that are shared at the time they were made can be trusted.
Informing Stakeholders
There may be many individuals and groups who have an interest in the results of a study. Prediction Vault provides a very easy way of informing people about study findings. In psychology experiments, for example, it can be used to ‘debrief’ participants.
